Colts started training camp today. It was great to see Andrew Luck back on the field and throwing a real football to receivers. It’s what we all came to see, Luck throwing the football. I needed to actually see it with my own eyes, not a report on TV that left me wondering if it was old footage. The crowd at camp cheered with the first throw and again when a receiver would catch a pass. Luck looked a little rusty and out of time at points during the practice. Jacoby Brissett looked more prepared and had some great throws. Hopefully, Luck improves each day now that he can practice with the team. The offense out shined the defense on opening day.
The rookies impressed on day one. Nyheim Hines #42 RB worked with special teams returning kicks, ran the ball and caught a few passes. He is noticeably faster than the other running back but smaller too at 5’9″. Not too surprising since he was the fastest RB at the 2018 draft running a 4.38 40 yard dash. He is fun to watch!
Rookie Deon Cain #8 WR made a couple great catches along the side lines to get cheers from the crowd. Darius Leonard #53 a rookie out of South Carolina State intercepted a couple passes to gain cheers too.
